Review Time: KISS MY BOOTS by Harper Sloan
Title: Kiss My Boots
Author: Harper Sloan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 18th, 2017
In this second of the sultry, Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times bestselling
author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own
happily-ever-after—but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go
ahead and kiss her boots?
Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She’s the stereotypical tomboy with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is, until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren’t worth her time.
The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw’s farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now, Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start—but if he’s being entirely honest, he’s not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers, Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love who Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past; but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he’s been missing….

I absolutely
loved the first book in this series, Lost Rider, and when I heard about
the second book following the story of Quinn...I jumped at the chance
to read this one.
This
was my second Sloan book and I absolutely adored it. Kiss my Boots was
everything you could want in a book and more. I'm a sucker for a
cowboy...being from Texas and all, and she definitely knows how to write
those yummy cowboys.
Everything
about this story felt so real and emotional. You could connect with the
characters and feel their pain. And even know some of their pain.
That's one thing that I really love about these books, is their problems
are so relatable and it makes the characters feel more real.
Kiss
my Boots follows the story of Quinn, the youngest Davis sibling and her
first love Tate Montgomery. Quinn has never gotten over Tate leaving
her when they were younger. Just no more emails, no more calls, no more
Tate. She was destroyed. But now years later she's never given her heart
to another man because she knows who it will always belong to. Even if
she may never see him again...the heart wants what the heart wants.
But
it seems Tate has other plans. He's never forgotten about the girl
covered in grease, even in his pristine medical environment. So when he
needs work done on his grandfather's truck, he knows exactly who to send
it to. Though Quinn is pissed about this and terrified to see him
again, she can't refuse to work on that truck.
She
may be terrified to see Tate again but she's more frightened to never
have a chance with him. But she knows she needs to know the real reason
why he left and never came back all those years ago. As secrets unfold
and truths are told will Tate be able to take his woman back or will she
make him kiss her boots?
Harper
is a NEW YORK TIMES, WALL STREET JOURNAL and USA TODAY bestselling
author residing in Georgia with her husband and three daughters. She has
a borderline unhealthy obsession with books, hibachi, tattoos and Game
of Thrones. When she isn't writing you can almost always find her with a
book in hand.
