Review: Stark Trilogy by J. Kenner
Stark Trilogy by J. Kenner
Rating: 3.5-4/5
Genre: New Adult
(Seriously, not for anyone under the age of 18 lol)
Synopsis:
He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.
Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.
Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.
But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.
Review:
Hmmm, where to start! The Stark trilogy was/is like a lot of the other New Adult books that you pick up in the book store (or your iPad/Kindle/Nook... You get my point. lol).
This story reminds me a lot the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. There's this young, handsome, rich, and dominant man who happens to be a business owner and also happens to be rich as hell. Then there's this normal and very independent girl, with a relatively normal life, who moves to a big (or bigger) city to start over new and gets involved with this very handsome rich guy. The characters aren't too different from a lot of other books that I've read, but that's not really why I continued reading this trilogy.
There's a lot of mystery hidden with in the pages and that's what kept me reading. Yes, there's love (sometimes just a little too much, lol), but there's a whole other story line that you try to figure out. It isn't easy for them since they have quite a bit of trust issues with everyone around them; who could blame them after the first two books. Something huge goes down though - which by the way - I didn't expect! After you get to that breaking point, its hard to put these books down.
However, I do believe that there may have been too many sex scenes in these books. I feel like this couple did try to solve their problems with sex and it became frustrating because I just wanting to get to the action... that wasn't sexual, lol!

So, aside being like every other New Adult book I've read, I really did like it! It's a short/easy read and the mystery that you read set it apart from the others that I have read in the past.
