Get to know my IG Parabatai!
In honor of the hugest giveaway in the history of huge book giveaways, I thought I would spotlight my sweet friend, Carmen - who happens to be my (what we call) "IG parabatai." Carmen and I have never met "in real life" but we are both grown up fangirls who seriously love each other lots. We talk every day and can't waiiiiiiit to go hang out together (and hey! maybe meet some of you lovelies!) Anyway, check out the Q&A I did with Carmen and make sure you follow her on instagram. Q: what's your favorite part about being my interwebz parabatai? (You can't say looks. It's not allowed. My body is sacred and stuff.)
Carmen: Hahaha okay I have to rethink my answer now. I love being able to fangirl with you over hot sexy guys like Danila, Theo, and Jamie. It also helps that we're both 'grown up fangirls' and I know I'm not alone :)
Q: what made you want to start a fandom Instagram and what are your plans for the future?
Carmen: I started a fandom Instagram because I become strongly obsessed with The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. JoAnna (my co-owner), introduced me to them! We would spend hours fangirling over them and look through photos and try to decide who would be the perfect cast for TID... And after saving so many photos, I decided it was time to put it elsewhere other than my picture folder on my computer! (I also created it while I was bored at work lol)
Q: one day when we finally get to hang out, what's our day gonna be like? Our night?
Carmen: Oh goodness. I can picture us fangirling nonstop and drooling over hot fandom guys, coming up with cool art projects to do regarding fandoms, possibly design our next tattoo?? I'm hoping to have a crazy time at Comic-Con 14' with you too!
Q: name one (okay I know that's hard....you have special permission to list more than one) fictional character you'd like to do naughty things with.
Carmen: ONE? Yeah.... Not possible. Okay, here's my list in no order at all.
Kellan Kyle (Thoughtless Trilogy)
Gideon Cross (Crossfire Series)
Tobias Eaton/Four.... Ahhh those Tats!!

Dimitri Belikov (Especially Danila)

Carmen: Besides yours? Because that's a given! :)
Q: what's a day in the life of Carmen like?
Carmen: Haha uhhhhh... If I'm being honest, I read. Like, all the time. If I'm not reading, I'm editing something fandom related and watching netflix.
Q: how does it feel when people tell you that you're a role model and they make fan pages about you?
Carmen: It's very flattering!! I don't think I could ever get used to it. I don't know if I consider myself a role model, because I make mistakes just like everyone else. But I do try to do what I think is best :)
Carmen: Would my bookshelf count as one?!
Q: what makes you a grownupfangirl?
Carmen: Well... I just turned 25 a week ago and my only interest are books, movies, and gaming. I've also done a bit of traveling for fandom related events! 3 years ago, I went to Chicago for the Twilight convention. Just this last April, we took another trip to Chicago and met the cast of Vampire Diaries. Ahhh Ian Somerhlder!
The most recent one, JoAnna and I traveled 7 hours north to the Mall of America for the TMI Mall Tour. We camped out for 12 hours just to get a wrist band. I never knew summer nights in Minnesota dripped below 50 degrees!
Q: book - to - movie adaptation you're most looking forward to in the coming year?
Carmen: I would to say Catching Fire. They did SO amazing with The Hunger Games, and the trailer looks fabulous. Other books to movie adaptations would be Divergent, Vampire Academy, and TFIOS!
